Jules Verne was born in France in 1828 and had a love
for the sea. He once tried to be a sea captain but things
didn't work out. Jules Verne has written many books such
as Journey To the Center of the Earth, Five Weeks in a balloon and
Around the World in Eighty Days. One book by him was 20,000 Leagues
Under the Sea. This book has adventure, suspense and lots of mystery.

The book begins with a boat chasing a giant monster that destroyed
huge unsinkable ships. When they would get close to this monster a giant stream of
water would shoot a hundreds feet into the air. This of course would cause the boat to back
off. The monster had no problem disappearing from sight for hours.
Many times the boat gets close enough to the monster to catch it but they never made an actual attempt to catch...
