A Day on the Mayflower

I’m the middle child of three in my family. My family is traveling over to the New World to start a new and better life. I will miss England, but I’m anxious and excited to get to America.
The ship we are on is quite crowded, especially the sleeping quarters under deck. There are diseases spreading around and the captain isn’t very nice to anyone. The kids don’t have much to do all day and when we get too loud and rambunctious, some of the older people aboard get mad and tell us to sit down and be quiet.
Right now there is a terrible storm outside. We are all crammed under deck. Water keeps coming in and I’m very afraid. Some of the older people are saying we’re not going to make it.
