A Struggle

A cold remorse for the world around me
A distaste for the lonely life I lead
A pure hatred for the people I see
And a cry for help that none take to heed

I saw a door, something through I escaped
I was left alone with only my fears
My once fragile soul, now steadily raped
Slowly and steady I drowned in my tears

You suddenly appeared and eased my pain
And although I willingly blocked you out
You stayed with me; made your presence plain
And you showed me what love was all about

You gave undying love, my saving grace
With you by me, I discovered my place.
