City of God which was made in 2002 is a Brazilian that explores and represents the poverty, lawlessness and violence in which thousands of people must live in every day. They display this through a number of different techniques, some being more “art house” for example the scene where rocket is describing the history of the apartment he is visiting, during this scene the camera is stationary while the time, room and occupants change at high speed, this type of cinematography may appeal to art house audiences due to its unique style.
