Control, Support, and ... Hate?


Why should an innocent dead man be left to lay, unburied, left for his soul to roam? And to be told so by a family member, perhaps not the closest family, yet, it is family. Family is supposed to be the ultimate support, everlasting, and always ready to forgive. Although, this is only the ideal family. What would cause such hate between two people of the same name? Mainly, there would be the reason that Creon possessed much power, and became a bit headstrong and took advantage of this advantage. With that statement, he is almost fulfilling Teiresias' comment that "The only crime is pride." He controlled his territory, and was used to applying his authority to situations, and showed disapproval to many things, even Teiresias' talent of divination.
