Family law is the area of law dealing with family relations, such as divorce, adoption, paternity, custody, child support, and a variety of other dealings as we will learn. (“Marriage”) Family law plays an important role in America’s society and always has. To better understand the topic of family law we are going to look at the beginning of family law, the era of 1790 to 1870, the era of 1880 to 1930, the era of 1940 to the present, and the direction family law is heading.
Family law is a body of rules, practices, and beliefs that govern a home.
