Over the past decades worldwide food production has more than kept pace with the doubling of world population, however, it has been unable to overcome inequalities of food distribution. To keep up with the food distribution we overcultivate to meet immediate needs, or annexe inappropriate land with steep slopes and shallow, infertiles and poorly drained soils. But what most affects our environment due to food production is the use of genetic engeering, chemical fertilizers and monoculture.
One of the most important issues facing consumers today is genetic engineering of our food.
