In October of 2006 a guinea pig named Peaches, had five babies. They were all very small because of how many there were. The smallest baby was only 3 inches long, all the others were about twice his size.
Three years ago I had a different guinea pig that had babies twice before, but she only had one at a time. So when I saw that there were five I didn't think that they all would survive. But after a day and half, four of them seemed to be doing just fine, but the smallest one wasn't walking around like the others and was not drinking milk from its mother.
After two days the baby guinea pig, who I named Dusty, still was not eating. He was laying on the floor of the cage half covered in wood shavings. For a minute I thought he was dead.
