The peace corps has a rich history and teaches responsibility, discipline, and awareness, although being accepted to the peace corps, and the programs demands great will power, the peace corps will offer a great experience. The peace corps is an independent United States government agency. Since the 1960s over 187,000 volunteers have served in the Peace Corps in over 139 host countries. Today’s volunteers are working in a large range of fields, everything from AIDS, environmental work, to information technology. With so many third world countries struggling to improve their region foreign aid is in great demand now. The volunteers being sent over to these counties have a broad experience and training in these fields before being sent off, and with their experience all Peace Corps members adopt three goals in order to help them succeed.
