President George W. Bush on U.S. Economy

The economy in the U.S. has been gradually becoming worse over the span of two years. The U.S. dollar amount has dropped and throughout the past year, gasoline prices and food have increasingly skyrocketed, housing costs have increased and decreased dramatically and the current unemployment rate has only grown higher. Our economy is in a current state of turmoil in which only seems to be getting worse with time. The economy catastrophe is now the number one on the U.S. concern list.
The U.S. economy is structurally strong, but we are experiencing a period of economic challenge. According to the National Bureau of Economic Research, the U.S. economy suffered from a recession that lasted from March 2001 to November 2001.
