Sonnet 116 is a testament to the dedication of true love. The sonnet was written by William Shakespeare, along with many other sonnets. They are connected by many ways but one emotion so strongly emphasized, love. There is no real proof that any of the sonnets are based on Shakespeare’s life, but assumptions have been made because of his complete passion and the way he gives his whole heart in his work.
Sonnet 116 is a poem about true love. The first two lines of Sonnet 116 are an suggestion towards these words “If any of you know cause of just reason why these two persons should not be joined together by holy matrimony” of the covenant of Marriage in the service.
