John Milton is one of the greatest English poets. His parents were also a bit wealthy and helped finance his amazing education. Christ’s college in Cambridge is a school where young men go in the hopes of becoming a priest. During his years at Cambridge he was not like any of the other students that attended. In fact he was so different from them, that they gave him the famous nick name, Lady of Christ’s. When he left Cambridge, unlike his fellow colleagues, he did not want to become a priest. Instead he decided to stay home, under his father’s financial roof, and studied for the next six years. His life’s ambition was to become England’s greatest poet. He wrote many different writings, but three of his sonnets seem to be written at different times of his life and reflect who Milton was during that time.
