Context is a word that would have the meaning of the variable factors under which a situation happens. In this case, when Margaret Atwood’s “Context is all” quote is kept into consideration, the variables would be Religion, Ethics and Science in order to help prove such a theory. Although the paradox that is noticed whilst looking at the question given is whether “is it true, that there is no such thing as truth?” it would be contradictory to oneself to approach such a question. As if one believes that there is no truth, as the ultimate truth, then there would not be no such thing as truth, if what is believed was considered as the truth. Using Religion, Ethics and Science would be in order to prove that indeed Context is all. And that it is what influences the different truths found in different circumstance that will be examined.
Religion is a set of attitudes, beliefs, and practices pertaining to supernatural power. Following a certain Religion is a choice. Many people are raised up into the morals and certain practices in which they believe are the true way to worship and pertain to that supernatural power. And many others can simply convert to the Religion in which they think has the ultimate true way for the attitudes, beliefs and practices. For example, when taking a Muslim and a Non-Muslim environment, many different beliefs, attitudes and practices would come to mind. In the case of Alcohol, for a Muslim it would be against his / her Religion to go ahead and have a harmless glass of wine for example. But here is what the Muslim context has to say; Alcohol drinking in Islam is prohibited by God himself as it causes damage to the brain cells of the drinker, and one of the values in which Muslims believe are to maintain and take care of one’s self.
