Three day training manual for new salesclerks
1. Explain the job duties, working conditions, and pay.
The retail salesclerks are responsible for providing excellent customer service. The salesclerks are the first people customers meet when shopping in one of our stores. Keep your best foot forward, and leave a positive lasting impression on them.
Knowledge of our products and the location of our items are required for this position. When a customer asks a question do your best to answer them, other wise direct them to a fellow employee who can. Our store operates computerized cash register systems. Team leaders train all new salesclerks. It takes a little time to learn your way around computerized cash register systems. This new form of cash registers is designed to assist stores in keeping track of inventory, what needs to be reordered, and how well products are selling.
The working conditions require long periods of standing on your feet. The ability to make credit card, debt, personal checks, and cash transactions. This job also requires repetitive job skills.
Starting pay for retail salesclerks is 12.50 per hour. Every three months there will be a job performance review. Depending on the review the pay raise will increase by 50 cents to one dollar. The pay scale for this position tops out at twenty dollars per hour.
