THE EFFECTS OF 9/11 ON SOCIETY
As the hijackers entered the airport, no one had any idea of their horrible intentions.
Liquids, gels and aerosols over 3-ounces are not aloud as well as wet-cell batteries. Three ounce items in 1-quart, zip-top clear plastic baggie are aloud, one per traveler.
Before September 11, security at WA airport or any other airport was not this tight. Frequent travelers say this makes traveling two times as hard and the security procedures make getting on planes 3 times longer. In Iraq, the innocent had to hide in their homes as Saddam and his followers fought with American solders. Children under ten carried guns bigger than them. Back in America, people suffered greatly at the fall of the twin towers. Many would not come out of there homes because they thought war would come down on them at any time. Over 2000 people died, over 2000 people grieving, over 2000 graves. Everyone went into depression for several days America was frozen in horror and could not do anything without thinking about the attack. The airlines lost millions of dollars because no one would fly. Several airlines went out of business. America was lost for several days and because of that we got stronger. Within days hundreds of peoples lives changed as they started cleaning up debris , dead bodies, and tried to find live ones. The saddest part is that 6 years later there are still bodes on ground zero. People in NY had to change their daily living so that NY itself could put itself back together and heal. The world itself has changed so much. We as the United States of America has changed dramatically and has needed time to heal and recover. People, it seems, must fall before they can understand what hurt means or feels like. Unfortunately, sometimes it costs others lives to sort the bad from good but now that we have, I hope we will change. Not just as a group, but as individuals.
