Advertising has become such a widespread form of promotion in today’s society that we now accept it from everywhere. We are flooded with product information in our social networking sites, our news media sites, right down to being accosted on the phone at all hours of day and night to be told what you can get for so much money.
One thing though, there is also marketing and without proper credibility and building of good rapport with customers there is no product, even with some fair amount of advertising going to continue on a level that is desired as far as having a successful continuous seller.
While the role of advertising is supposed to inform us completely about a product, in most cases it informs us of the potential harm and not enough about what the product is or could be used for.
Media literacy is extremely important when selling a product due to the fact that most people may not see this item in the stores where they can physically inspect it. Therefore the advertisement through media is imperative that it not only be visually stimulating, but informative as well as be quick. Without captivating a potential consumer’s attention right from the start, they have not succeeded or been effective enough to sell that product.
Gatorade has really boomed with advertisement about replenishing necessary vitamins, fluids and all during exercise and playing sports. However, there is an energy bite put out by Gatorade that also boosts one’s energy. They have yet to actually bring this fully into the line for being advertised along with the sports drinks, but with the right amount of focus given, it could be a top seller among athletes.
Many of the major products like shoes, cars, soda, and healthy water, they all advertise for free on a social networking site called Facebook.
