“Aesthetics”
Aesthetics is commonly associated with having good taste or having an awareness of beauty. Some when using the word aesthetics usually are referring to something’s artistic appeal. Most people carry a lot of bias when it comes to this form of aesthetics maybe even more so then what a person is wearing or their physical attributes. It’s easier to overlook a persons unappealing attire but not as easy to overlook a piece of art in a museum or gallery that you feel unworthy of your eye’s affection.
By going to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art or SFMOMA you can see two of the worlds famous artist Matisse and Picasso. These are two of several people who have influence many in their own artistic endeavors. Many have agreed enough to give this men the title of Master.
Some people love Matisse as he was a revolutionary and seeing his art can provoke joy and wonder. Matisse can be very colorful which some may find appealing, but at the same time some tend to get irritated with Matisse fairly quickly. He can become murky with a whole lot of color. His work can become busy while other times he can be too dull.
Picasso is a artist that you may never tire of. He is highly recognizable and as long as you’ve able to see you have caught glimpses of his works. He is another artist that the western world adores. This man can blend your perception of real, surreal and . I love how you can see his world view through his paintings. I found myself leaving the exhibit just to take a break. The man not even alive anymore and he can still drive you nuts!
I feel that aesthetics is experienced on a personal level and wholly believe in the saying “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”. I behold the fact that people can find the same things beautiful but they will never feel completely the same way about such beauty. I believe that life and our personal experiences shape what we perceive and since no one has the same exact experiences at the same exact time...
