Title:   Against Animal Testing

Specific purpose: To persuade my audience that animal testing should be banned from all countries and states. It isn’t fair to test on innocent animals, so stop animal testing for good.

B. Connection to the audience: Imagine if someone had come into your house and took your pet and tested products on it. What would your reaction be?
C. Credibility material:   Introduction to primary and secondary sources
D. Preview (thesis, claims, and relevant perspectives): I’d like to talk to you first about the need for testing on animals to come to an end. Second, how you can become a person who opposes animal testing. Finally, how your family and friends can benefit from you fighting for animal rights. You can make a difference.

A. Animal cruelty is a growing social issue that many people do not understand.   Each type of abuse has displayed certain patterns of behavior that we can use to help understand more about why people commit the crimes they do today.

1.   Picture this:   rows of rabbits wait in cages, their heads tightly clamped in stocks to prevent movement.   The lower lids of the rabbits' eyes are pulled back.   Technicians drip nail polish remover, mascara, shampoo, and astringent into their eyes, where the chemicals stay for three to twenty one days.   The chemicals burn and often blind the animals.
