All Work, No Play
The transition from high school to college is defiantly not an easy one. The switch from having to deal with the same people every day in high school to a completely whole new group of faces can be scary and stressful. Another part that can make a new college students life stressful would be playing a college sport. Playing a sport in college makes managing time so much harder, and sometimes impossible to do. Therefore, student athletes life is a very stressful one.
To start, college athletes have to keep their GPA above a 2.0. A 2.0 for some people is very easy to surpass, but for a student athlete many factors come into play that make it difficult for them to maintain this GPA. One of the factors would be when the practices are scheduled. Depending on the time a practice is, affects the time spent on homework and studying for tests. If a practice is scheduled at 6:30 at night, it intervenes with the amount of energy the person will put into his or her work. Having to do homework and study for tests after practice is very difficult, since the athlete is already dead tired from their workout and just wants to go to sleep. Also, the student can be dead tired from games and being on the road to away games. On these away games it is difficult to study for test since the lighting on the buses are very dim. Also since being on the road for away games leaves very little time to do homework, very well do it correctly. With having limited time to do work can cause the athlete to hand it in late or not hand it in at all. This causes the student athlete to fall behind and make it almost impossible to make up the work.   The idea is for students to complete their work before practice and not stay up till 2 in the morning. But that is usually not the case, since after class the students just want to relax and be with friends until practice starts.
