Analysis Lamb To The Slaughter

The character that I love the most is Mary Maloney. This is because at the beginning of the story, Mary Maloney is a content housewife whose whole life centers around her husband named Patrick Maloney. She seems to be very loyal to her husband like a home cat. This is very true because she waits happily each night for the arrival of her husband Patrick Maloney from work at the police station.
Mary Maloney is a woman who dares to stand on her own. She is also a very smart woman. She commits an almost perfect murder, No one has taught her about how to do a murder, but she has learnt it within her inner self. This is because she has got the talent and she believes that the power is in her hand. She is able to get away with murder and she able to adapt to the atmosphere by playing her role as an innocent wife.
Apart from that I admire her because she is very intelligent. I tell this because after searching the weapon for a very long time, finally the policemen found nothing. They have eaten it. She successfully kept the weapon for the dinner. She is a dynamic character who changes from a perfect, subservient wife to a cunning woman who murders her husband and gleefully conceals her crime.  
The character that I hate the most is Patrick Maloney. He is a very irresponsible man. I would say this because he dares to tell Mary Maloney that he has fed-up with her. Pity her because at that time she is pregnant for their first baby. Patrick Maloney was unfaithful too. He wanted to abandon Mary Maloney, his six month pregnant wife because he has got another woman. I agree that sometimes people may feel bored and want to find something new. But in this contact Patrick Maloney was really heartless with his caring wife. He should consider her wife’s condition before making the decision to leave her. But in another point I actually respect him because he is honest in expressing his feeling towards Mary Maloney. But he has told his feeling at a wrong time.
