Andre Agassi

Andre Agassi started playing tennis professionally when he was sixteen years old. When he was eighteen years old he won six tournaments, reached the semifinals in French and U.S. opens, and he went from ninety-first to third place in the world.

He was born on April 29, 1970, in Las Vegas, Nevada to Mike and Betty Agassi. Andre is five feet, eleven inches and weighs one hundred fifty five pounds. From intense workout, twenty-five pounds of his body is muscle.

Andre's father was a boxer who worked at a hotel casino in Vegas. He taught Andre how to play tennis before he could walk. He took aping pong paddle and taped it toAndre's hand. While he   was sitting in his high chair Mike tossed him a balloon with a little bit of water in it, so Andre could hit it with the paddle. By the time Andre was two years old, he could serve on a full court, and when he was four he practiced with Jimmy Connors at an exhibition game at a Vegas hotel. Mike had also set up a cement tennis court in the yard for him to practice.

Andre was such an exceptional player   that there was no competition for him in his area , so he had to go to a tennis academy.
