Animal Farm

The change of the word "equal" and the failing of Animal Farm during the pigs' administration is because over the course of the book the 7 commandments were corrupted. All of the commandments were changed to the pigs’ benefit, so they could prance around and do as they please. The three laws that were the most important that were changed is 1. Whatever walks upon two legs is an enemy, 5. No animal shall drink alcohol, and 7. All animals are equal. The changing of these commandments made the pigs' seem more and more like humans each day. Which ruined the point of the rebellion for the other animals and caused Animal Farm to fall apart.

Commandment one is important because of the fact that it was what started the rebellion in the first place.   All the animals were against humans and wanted to take things in their own hands and live their lives freely.   But control and power took over the pigs’ minds and they started communicating with humans to “interact with the outside world” and to “start trade with the neighboring farms.” Napoleon started having a Mr. Whypmer, who agreed to be an intermediary between Animal Farm and the outside world, stop by the farm every Monday to receive his instructions and share his ideas.   Later on in the book Napoleon and the other pigs had taught their selves to walk on two legs, which corrupted commandment one, and made the pigs’ act more human.

Commandment five isn’t as important as the others, but it still has importance.   The commandment was made for a reason, and that’s because the animals knew how alcohol would affect Farmer Jones when he drank it, and because it was a human habit.   But of course the pigs’ thinking they can do as they wish, because they were in charged decided they were going to break the commandment and drink alcohol anyways.   They soon found out what the after affects of it were though, and they all though Napoleon was dying because he was hung over.   Napoleon then announced that the...
