Archeticture

This research paper shall examine the reasoning and cause of Architecture in the ancient and modern world. Some ask the question, whether Architecture is art or science. One thing is certain is that in nearly every culture architecture has a role to play. Architectural achievements are a large part of every ancient and modern civilization. In the Western World architecture has been greatly influenced and affected by Roman architectural design. Their innovative designs and influential developments developed centuries ago have provided a basis for architectural masterpieces found across the planet and, what's more, have remained relevant into the 21st Century. The Romans borrowed many architectural designs from the Greeks. Architecture shows wealth and power and thus leads to a society having a superior feeling among its peers.
Greece was dominated by religion and so it is not surprising that the temples of ancient Greece were the biggest and most beautiful. They also had a political purpose as they were often built to celebrate civic power and pride, or offer thanksgiving to the patron deity of a city for success in war. The Parthenon is a great example of how much wealth Athens had. It symbolizes the power and influence of the Athenian politician, Pericles, who championed its construction. The Acropolis of Athens is another example of the amount of power that Athens and Greece in general had.The Acropolis is mainly dedicated to the Goddess Athena. It is so worldly renown that it was chosen as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. These great sites show how hard the Athenian citizens worked to prove the amount of wealth and prestige available.
A Ziggurat is an excellent example of the great architectural achievements of Mesopotamian. The Ziggurats, were large pyramids built in receding tiers upon a rectangular, oval, or square platform.
