Melanosis/Keratosis melanosis (hyper pigmentation) occurs when areas of the skin turn abnormally dark. The abnormally dark spots occur when the body over produces the skin pigment Melanin. Melanosis can be caused by exposure to arsenic. Seborrheic Keratoses are brown, black, or flesh colored growths on the skin.
