      In order to prepare for the presentation of quarterly sales information the first consideration must be who is the audience?   The audience will consist of a group of stakeholders including managers, salespeople, and customers.   Because each of these stakeholders represents a different aspect of the sales process the information being presented will have to be able to meet all of their needs.   Identifying the audience’s characteristics begins with considering such important audience characteristics as educational and professional background, knowledge and experience levels.   Managers hold a position where the need to know more information on how sales will affect sales people, customers, and profits.   The information being presented will have to fulfill this need for the managerial stakeholder.   Salespeople will also be well versed in sales, and the needs of their departments, and customers.   However, their level of knowledge and the information that will be useful to them will be different from the needs of those in management.   Salespeople will be interested in information that will help them to sale more product and give better customer service.   The presentation will need to provide this information in order to be useful to the salespeople.   Lastly the customer who can be represented by a diverse group of people must be considered.   It is possible for them to be any age, educational back ground, income level, and from any cultural background.   However, their concerns will be the same is the product good, is the price reasonable, and how will they be treated.   Customers want to know that their opinions count, and that their needs will be met.   When addressing the group of stakeholders consideration for cultural, educational, and experience levels will have to be considered, and adjustments made, so that the information can be clearly understood by all.
