Introduction
Bead Bar is a very well known business. The company has many needs and the main one is that Bead Bar is able to be connected to each of its locations and headquarters. A network will do exactly that for the company. A network will allow the company to meet all their needs by providing more services to their franchises, exchanging new ideas with them and cutting down on paperwork. This paper will be focusing on the background of Bead Bar, recommendations for which network topology, and network architecture that Bead Bar should invest in, and the advantages/disadvantages of the network.
Background Information on Bead Bar
Bead Bar is a company that allows individuals to create their own bead jewelry. The company was created in 1998 by Meredith S. The first Bead Bar was opened in New Canaan, Connecticut. Bead Bar allows customers to sit at a bar, use beads, wire and string to create bracelets, necklaces, and other jewelry. Today Bead Bar has several studios in various locations, and three divisions’ studios, franchises, and Bead Bar on Board.
Bead Bar on Board allows customers on cruise ships to create bead jewelry. The bar is portable and can be placed on deck or in a lounge (Malaga, 2005). Bead Bar on Board purchases their materials through Bead Bar. Bead Bar on Board has about 35 employees all together, either part-time and full-time.
Bead Bar still uses paper forms and has been experiencing many problems such as, lost orders, order fulfillment delays and invoicing errors. The company has grown to the size now that they need to upgrade to a digital way to run their business. The digital world will help them fix their errors in the company and provide better service to their customers. Rapid order fulfillments, correct orders, online shopping, the digital world can offer all these.
