Ben Franklin

Benjamin Franklin is tall compared to the small group of men we call our Founding Fathers. His role in the American Revolution was not out fighting on the battlefields like George Washington, but rather in the halls and staterooms of governments. His clear vision of the way things should be in the states, and his skill in both writing and negotiating, helped him to shape the future of the United States of America.
Ben franklin and Washington were much respected men that were almost complete strangers. As soon as Washington arrived in Philadelphia, where Ben Franklin lived, he didn’t even unpack his bags before he went to visit Franklin. Washington and Franklin were considered America’s two most distinguished citizens. The two men haven’t really spent much time together because of their demands of their military and diplomatic duties kept them apart and busy. The two men have only met a couple of times, once on a postal inspection trip to Virginia in 1756, and again in 1775 just before Washington become commander and chief of the army. While Washington’s was visiting Franklin, he couldn’t resist showing Washington his inventions, like his electricity equipment and his mechanical arm he made to get the books off the top shelf. He was very inventive, and loved his work. That visit is said to have gave Washington and franklin a time to form a close bond, which would become very valuable in the months to come.
Ben franklin spent a lot of time abroad, shaping his opinions about the government. His served as a colonial agent in England before the revolution. On October 27, 1776 he went to France, and spent almost 9 years there. Ben franklin was a very popular person in all of France, you may say, always having amazing dinner parties for his distinguished guests.   But he wasn’t liked by everyone.
