The Best Way to Send a Letter
Since 1692 when the first postal service arose, society has been sending and receiving letters and packages using the U.S. Postal Service. In the recent years, the Internet’s rapid growth and the creation of E-mail has given society a new way to communicate and send letters. While sending letters through the U. S. Postal Service and the Internet using E-mail are both beneficial; sending E-mails has taken a bigger role because it is easier, it gets to the person faster, and you don't have to pay for postage.
There are numerous ways in which people have changed the way they communicate in the last 50 years; email is most certainly one of them. Traditionally, sending correspondence through the Postal Service or regular mail was the basis for communication. Yet, today sending letters through the mail is no longer the primary way to communicate, as one can use the telephone or email. The internet has become the most popular way to keep in touch.
Research has shown that that people actively use email to maintain core social networks, particularly when the recipients live at a distance. However, contradictory to previous research, the results suggest that increases in Internet usage are associated with decreases in other modes of communication, with proficiency of Internet and e-mail use serving as a mediating factor in this relationship. People are no longer relying on regular postage mail to send and receive mail because it takes longer for friends, family, relatives, and/or businesses to receive your letter or correspondence. E-mails are sent through the Internet and are received minutes after being sent depending on your Internet speed. This allows your recipient to view your letter or correspondence instantly.
Another downside of regular postage mail is that you have to buy stamps and envelopes to use to send your letter or correspondence. With E-mail, there is no postage required which saves you time and money and you don’t...
