There are thousands of teen walking around with STD’s and pregnant. Abstinence does not work for everyone. That’s where birth control comes in condoms, birth control pills, birth control shots, and much more. No not every adult believe that teens should use birth control let alone have sex. The truth is teens have sex every day weather their parents accept it or not, it’s a decision that’s for them to make. That’s why all teens should have access to al kind of birth control.
There are many reasons why parents oppose to birth control for example health reasons. There are many side effects with birth control pills and the birth control shot; they include blood clots, weight gain, and strokes. Another reason is premature sex, no parent will be happy with thee teenage child having sex and by giving a teenager birth control is like giving them the green like to go for it. The main reason would be religion for example Catholics do not believe in birth control because sex is something that should be shared between a married couples. Not everyone believe like that an when your having premarital sex you should always use some type of birth control.
One of my long time friends had sex with out being on the pill and with out a condom and she ended up pregnant at the age of fifteen. Birth control could have lowered the chance of her being pregnant up to 99.9%. At one point she even thought about getting an abortion. If you think about it if more teens were using birth control the teenage pregnancy rate would drop as well as the teenage abortion rates. Teens would not feel like they have to abort a baby because they do not want their parents or others to be ashamed of them and have their life style looked down on at that point they feel as if they have no choice but to go threw it .
There are a lot of places where you can receive free condoms, testing, and pills. If you choose not to go that route your insurance can cover most of the cost of the birth control...
