The black race uses the white race as a convenient scapegoat for all their problems. They are blamed for the AIDS, high school dropouts, poverty, and high violence rate. In turn the white man feels pity and is guilt tripped from the slavery that occurred decades ago and they are quick and willing to pay for their forgiveness. They even got certificates freed them from “white guilt.” Certificates that were to ease a guilty conscience, if there was one. I’ve seen teachers, in a class argument, side with the only black student in the class. The teacher this this multiple times, probably to appear she was not racist. The same holds true for most Caucasian individuals, as racism is a touchy subject. In the most recent news stories I can remember there have been incidents were a white officer shoots and kills an armed black man and the officer was immediately seen as a monster, a racist. It doesn’t matter if the officer was shot at or possible shot before he fired his deathly shot. The bottom line is a white man killed a black man and the white man must suffer and pay for his crime, otherwise a whole black community will be chasing him.
Hamblin uses language as a way to identify with his people, to be considered a part of them. At the same time though he is against them. He seems disappointed, maybe even embarrassed at the image of the black community. He mentions how they depend on the government as a source of power. The government provides their children money for school, through thousands of scholarship specifically for minorities and African Americans. Welfare, commonly their source of income in impoverished families, provides a family food. As a result Hamblin is calling his own people the same stereotype as the rest of the world, lazy. They should stop looking for excuses and take hold at earning the American dream, and those who have shouldn’t be hiding.
