Books R Us is an organization that has filled a market niche allowing authors a seamless means of publishing and distributing their various works and books. With the advances in technology and the increased accessibility of information through the internet, the book industry has had to shift from the typical bookstore venue and offer products in ways that cater to customer preferences. This movement has lead to a shift in market strategy accounting for the increased demand for internet sales and e-book downloads. This change in business structure has also led to a reduction in the cost associated with producing, printing, and distributing author publications allowing Books R Us an opportunity to increase profitability and expand market share.

To become one of the industry leaders in their niche, Books R Us is continuously striving to find ways to increase efficiency and revenue through their production process and services offered. The organization, through analyzing past data and industry trends, is attempting to increase the revenue earned through sales and marketing expenses. Total book sales encompass the amount that consumers have paid for books during a given period. Author services include:   Setting up book signing, radio/TV interview, emails to book stores & movie producers, book reviews, prints books, design/maintain web page (University of Phoenix, 2008).
