Transaction Processing System: Critical to Kudler Fine Foods

Kudler Fine Foods is a prime example of how retailers today need up to the minute transaction tracking and product re-ordering in order to stay competitive and keep customer satisfaction at a level that exceeds all other competition. The rest of this document will cover a little background information about who Kudler Fine Foods is as a company, and how a transaction processing system (TPS) keeps smaller grocery stores competitive and elevates customer satisfaction.
Company Background
Kudler Fine Foods is a small-to-medium sized company that currently has three locations: La Jolla, Del Mar, and Encinitas. The small chain was started by Kathy Kudler with a big vision: She was passionate about gourmet cooking and frustrated at having to travel all over town to gather the ingredients for one simple meal. So Kathy decided to open her own gourmet food shop. She combined one-stop shopping with reasonable prices, in order to keep customers coming, and so far it has been a success.
What Information System is Best?
Now that the company idea has been successful and widely accepted by returning customers, Kudler Fine Foods needs an information system to keep them at that level of success, bring in new customers, and retain returning customers. One problem that many retailers have run in to is running low or completely out of certain product. This loses the sale at the time, and the customer leaves the store with a negative experience, which has the tendency of leading to negative ‘word of mouth’ marketing.

One way to ensure that customers’ return, store shelves are stocked, and employees have an answer to when a product will be back in the store for sale is with a TPS.
