On July 20, 1969, Buzz Aldrin made history by being one of the first men to ever walk on the moon. Together, Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong made their historic Apollo 11 moonwalk, becoming the first two humans to set foot onto the moon. They both returned to earth with 46 pounds of moon rocks and spent a total of 21 hours on the moon. The photo I have chosen, Buzz Aldrin on the Moon, is an iconic piece of American History. Not only did 600 million people watch this on their television sets in the 1960s, but this moon landing showed the entire world that anything is possible. Buzz Aldrin on the Moon, taken by Neil Armstrong, published on July 20, 1969 in the publication of NASA, evokes the view to believe that anything is possible, shows simplicity, and making these first astronauts legends that they are know for today.
The moon landing of Apollo 11 impacted history greatly. Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong, and the rest of the astronauts on this mission proved that anything we could dream, we could do. This photo symbolizes that anything is possible because it is such an incredible, timeless picture. It also symbolizes simplicity because Buzz Aldrin is the center main focus. He is wearing a white space suit with the American flag on the left arm. This symbolizes how America is such a great country and how we can do anything we set our minds to.
This picture also provides a sense of simplicity. The only center focus is of Buzz Aldrin. There are no words, buildings, animals, or numbers. In the background, you can see a sliver of a black, starry,...
