Abstract

  1. “What information about race and ethnicity in the United States has helped you better understand or relate to specific minority groups?”
  2. “Have you learned something new about your own cultural history?”
  3. “Trends in immigration will continue to shape the face of the United States, what will this face look like in 2050?”
  4. “How might the country best prepare for the changing race and ethnicity of its current and future citizens?”

How certain condition affect racial and ethnic minority groups like their cultural, social, and economical has helped me understand their characterization. It seems that every ethnic that has arrived in the United States has had problems dealing with the struggles of assimilation.

My family still to this date tells the story of how Africans came to America. It is traditional to let the young remember the struggles and the sacrifices their ancestor took to get them to this point. It is told of Slavery and of the people that did different adventure to pave the way for freedom. It is told about The Civil Rights Movement and of the people, whom struggled, sacrificed for justice for all. I am African American, but until now I didn’t know of the American Colonization Society and how they migrated 13,000 back to Africa,

“The Census Bureau estimate that by” “2050 there will be 18 million minorities than non- minorities under age 35. The minority ethnic groups will be counted for 90% of population growth.” The effect of this change will be touched in the United States.

It has been stated in “Racial and Ethnic Groups, Tenth Edition” chapter 1 the United States is the Melting pot. Everyone has a root and can trace it back in time will realize that they came to the United States through as immigrants. We can best prepare...
