CHARACTER
Character influences many aspects of the world of work. Character is valuable to each of us in the working world because it enables us to be trustworthy in the eyes of the people we affect in our lives. Basic character is built and utilized by individuals in the shape of morals, ethics and values. Each individual has different aspects of character but the basics used in the working world are mostly the same.
One aspect of character is honesty. Honesty is important in the world of work and in day-to-day life. It is one of the fundamentals in building character because it most obviously reflects your values. It allows people to see you would rather tell the truth in a situation than lie about it to save your own skin.
Another character trait is punctuality. This further reflects reliability because it shows that you can meet deadlines in a proper manner. People will not find a person who is always late to be very reliable, and that makes you seem less than trustworthy.
Pride is yet another piece of the puzzle in building character. You must be proud of the things you do, because it is reflected in your work. If you show no pride in your actions or work then it would seem to others that you do not care. Yet again this does not make for a very trustworthy person.
Respect is also a valuable trait to have. Usually if you show respect for other people then they will do the same for you. Respect works two ways, if you respect others then you gain their trust, and if you are respectable then people will be kind and polite to you.
One more trait is integrity. Integrity basically backs up all the others, because it shows firmness in belief. Integrity can go a long way for a person because the firmness in belief demonstrates a stable and balanced person, and a person who will stand by what they believe in. This also makes you seem trustworthier to the public.
