CheckPoint:   Reflections on Nutrition
The assignment that I enjoyed the most was the CheckPoint: Protein Article Search.             The past few years, I have become a devoted runner. I was aware of the fact that I required more protein to build muscle and recover more rapidly, but I did not know exactly what the proteins did. Learning what amino acids did for my body was remarkable.
Two assignments influenced my nutrition habits, and will continue to influence my health for the remainder of my life. The week one assignment: Healthy Eating Plan and the week seven assignement: Healthy Eating Plan Comparison were informative. Initially I was aware that my diet was not the greatest but writing it down, and analyzing, it helped me understand that it needed changes. Putting into practice those changes was difficult, but it was beneficial. As week seven came, I was ready to do the plan once more, and compare the two plans. I knew the results would be better; I was more energetic than before, and I could run longer distance faster. As projected, my eating habits and my health had noticeably improved.   My family as well was enjoying the new healthy menu, and assortment of different foods at mealtime.
In general, I enjoyed this course more than any other course that I have had so far. It enlightened me in the technicalities of what the food and fluids that I eat and drink do inside my body. I gained the knowledge to correct my bad eating habits, and pushed myself to make these changes. In the end, after making these changes in my diet, I noticed the results in my energy and strength levels, and mealtime with the family is more cheerful now.
