Chicago School: Sociological theory-Explains criminality by demographics.

Defensible space theory- A belief that an areas physical features may be modified so in structure that it could reduce crime rates in that area and to lower the fear of victimization in the residence.

Broken Windows Thesis: Supported the above argument that physical deterioration leads to increased concerns of the public's safety of area residents and to higher crime rates to increase.

Social Psychological theory- individual linked to social group as the underlying cause of the criminal behavior.
