Running around in the dirt, potty training, nap time and playing around are some of the things one seems to associate with a childhood. Sadly, there are millions of children around the world that will lack these memories. Instead, they will remember factories, days of arduous work and mistreatment. Child labor has ruined their childhood in so many irreversible levels, but the worst part is, they are not the only ones affected by this abusive labor. Frequently, child labor has a myriad of negative repercussions in many different areas of the world; therefore, it is not only a threat for our children, but also for our society and-economy.
                  Children engaged in child labor suffer many often irreversible physical and physiological consequences.   One of the most common physical consequences of child labor are respiratory illnesses, spinal deformities, arthritis, cuts and wounds from sharp tools (Spagnoli 1). Children sometimes are used to clean parts of the machinery from a factory, so their lives are put in danger. The risks of these actions are the amputation of a finger, hand or even an arm.   Also, a child that works for long hours can become psychologically damaged.   Jobs given to children at such early ages can be stultifying and make them feel insignificant and even hopeless. A child that grows up with these physiological traumas is often scarred for life and develops a difficult personality(Museum of Childhood 1). These are only some of the dangers that the children of the world are currently suffering due to the physical and physiological damages that come as an outcome of child labor.
Child labor also harms society by delaying social progress among many areas.   Children nowadays stuck in infernal factories are holding in their hands the future of the societies of the world.   Labor takes away the time these individuals need to learn about their rights and ways they can improve their condition (Spagnoli 1).
