The intended audience for this article is parents, teachers, physicians, child development
worker’s or anyone else interested in how much sleep children of all ages need to function
well on a daily basis. The audience needs to know about sleep and children’s behavior   with
the proper amount and with the lack there of . I believe this article is somewhat effective. It gives
a lot of information and many facts, but does not give a lot of support for this information. I
used this particular article because it outlined every age group very well and made it easy to
navigate. Even though there wasn’t a lot of evidence   to prove all these claims, I know from
personal experience from raising 3 children It was right on the money. It goes into great detail
outlining every age group of child and explains how much sleep is needed and why it is needed.
The author uses mainly importance/significance and background claims throughout the article.
    This is a   well written and informative article and the sleep needs of children of all ages.
It starts out making the claim “sleep is very important to a child’s well being”. This is the basis
for the whole article. It goes on to state that “the link between a child’s lack of sleep and his or
her behavior isn’t always obvious”. “when adults are tired, they can be either grumpy or have
low energy, but kids can become hyper, disagreeable, and have extremes in behavior”. These are
importance/significance claims and are very important when deciding how much sleep is needed
for a particular age group of child.
    The first age group that is discussed is newborns. The author states that “there is no sleep
formula for newborns because their internal clocks aren’t fully developed yet”. “They
