Clear Concise Technical Instructions

The instructions that I reviewed were in regards to how a laptop computer functions. The instructions were very insightful, yet lacked in a few areas that I will explain.   The writer of these instructions did accomplish the task of explaining how a laptop computer works and what it is used for. I also believe the writer explained these instructions in a simplistic language that even the most novice computer user could understand how this machine operates and what it is to be used for.

The areas in which the writer lacked in his or her instructions were that the writer did have some grammatical errors that could lead to some confusion for someone reading these instructions. For example, if someone is new to using a laptop and does not understand the definitions being used and as a writer you forget to include a few words, this can lead to the reader not fully understanding what is trying to be conveyed in the writing. Also I believe the writer did not explain each type of laptop computer and simply defined what they knew about their own laptop, such as saying “all laptops come equipped with a wireless card for internet connection.”   This is not a true statement, the correct statement would have been “most laptop computers come equipped with a wireless card for internet connection.” The writer should have included knowledge from more than just their own experience with laptop computers so that the reader would not feel as though all laptops should be equipped with the same items.

All in all I believe the instructions provided by this writer were very informative and to the point in regards to laptop computers. I believe this could have been better if the writer would have proof read this and if the writer had titled this about their own laptop brand and not all laptops.
