College Project

Size: The University of Arkansas is 345 acres with a total of 130 buildings on campus. There was a total of 19,849 people attending the University in 2009. Since the last 139 years the University of Arkansas has grown into nine different schools and colleges. It had more than 900 faculty members in 2009.

Location: The University of Arkansas is located in beautiful Fayetteville, Arkansas. The city has more than 68,000 people   in the northwest corner is the home of the campus. It is west of the Ozark Mountains and close to the city. Outside magazine named Fayetteville 23rd out of the top 40 college towns in America for its outdoor recreation in 2003. Its temperate climate is known for its amazing weather year round. Fayetteville is in one of the fastest growing towns in the nation.

Famous Person: Cliff Lee used to attend the University of Arkansas as a Razorback baseball player. He was picked in the fourth round to the Montreal Expos in 2000. In 2008 had a twenty-two win and three lose season and was voted the American League Cy Young Award. Recently in 2010 Cliff   Lee helped lead the Texas Rangers to their first World Series.

Activities: The University of Arkansas is located next to six different states. It is really easy to take and adventurous trip with some friends. There is also many things you can do on campus that the Office of Student Activities can help you with. Such as the University Programs, which is a volunteer student organization   which plans over 200 events. The events range from educational to just entertainment experiences. There is also a Friday Night Live which is supposed to help you get more relationships and to interact in all sorts of events.
