Academic success begins at home. To obtain success, one must plan for it. Setting goals and creating proper discipline will help get through. But, there is more to it than that. Here is a basic guide that will help through higher learning.
Using Axia’s Educational Resources
One of the best academic tools at one’s finger tips is the school library. The library has the Center for Writing Excellence. Here one can get help with writing a paper. There is a tool called WritePoint. WritePoint allows us to submit a paper for proper grammar usage. The paper will be broken down with corrections that ensure minimal errors. The tutorials and guide will help as well. The focuses with them are to help format essays, reports and all other writing skills. There is also another link to the University Library that will do online searches. When searching for key information or articles, the user friendly article databases will guide best. In doing searches in this engine we can specify if we want it peer review or even if we want the full text or a condensed version. Using the peer reviewed articles, are geared towards academic research as opposed to those that are not. The facts are there and the sources have been cited.
Upholding Academic Honesty
Academic honesty is something to be taken very seriously. The best way to avoid this situation is to submit one’s own homework. Plagiarism is taken very seriously in an academic setting. If we are not sure about our work, submit the paper to the plagiarism checker. When doing a paper and using the words of another person as a source, we must paraphrase, cite and document their contribution to our paper. The same rules apply to self-plagiarism. Just because we wrote it previously, does not mean it is not plagiarism. If there are quotes please be sure to use proper punctuation. If one were to copy the work of a friend or relative or even calling a classmate and submitting the same thing...
