Of the two paragraphs I choose randomly, there was only one that captured my eye more effectively than the other. Paragraph two kept me interested throughout the entire reading, it went straight to the point, had all of the right rhythm and contains variety of length in sentences. The writer did not repeat the same pattern throughout his writing, (which a lot of writers do) he uses variety of short, medium, and long sentences that contained the right amount of information. He also displayed consistent rhythm throughout the paragraph from each sentence to the next. It also contains everything that a good paragraph structure should have a topic sentence, a body, and a concluding sentence. The writer had plenty of supporting information that supports the topic sentence, this is why I understood the whole paragraph. The information was suffusion enough that the reader can understand the reason why the President of the United States meet with the Credit Card industry executives on April 2009.
The WritePoint is very useful in helping to recognize basic grammar and punctuation errors, as well as common word usage in writing. After receiving my feedback I realized that I did a pretty good job. Usually when I receive my feedback it is full of writing suggestions and grammar errors. I like how Write point captures the error and inform the writer what is wrong and how to correct it. Like for example; I wrote April, 2009 and this was incorrect, WritePoint informed me that I should leave out the comma in a date that does not include the day. Not all the suggestions in WritePoint are correct you should re-read your work over and over before changing what you wrote, especially the writing suggestion. It told me that I should remove a world from my writing, (The writer had plenty of supporting information that supports the topic sentence, this is why I understood the whole paragraph.) I believe if I remove that word I we loss the rhythm in the sentence.
