What is the point of war? How do we fund a war? How many unannounced deaths are we unaware of? These are all questions which will supply numerous answers! One person may believe war to be the fight for freedom; another may look at war as the constant struggle to be the most powerful and feared nation. Where ever you decide to stand on war, there are facts which the news, local papers, and magazines do not report. Seems the media only reports the smaller details instead of the cold hard facts.
Normally, an article such as this, would try to persuade you to support another side. However, this is the complete opposite. I am in search of answers and an understanding of this violence and the incline of community ignorance. If we answer any of the questions listed, there are always other questions to follow. I have enclosed statements from numerous websites to vaguely answer some questions, and to alert those who enjoy the facts.
What is the point of war? This gruesome, grueling and slowly organized way of violence has been the end result to numerous situations. From the King Philip’s War, War of 1812, War of Texas Independence and the Mexican-American War to the U.S. Civil War, Vietnam War and the Persian Gulf War; The United States has been involved in outrageous amounts of conflict. This does not include the more recent battles known as Invasion of Afghanistan and the Invasion of Iraq. With this wars and battles in mind, a valuable quote from www.ancestry.com/militaryrecords becomes very shocking; “Since the beginning of the American Revolution, more than 43 million men and women have served in the U.S. military during wartime. In this some 230 years of military heritage, more than 650,000 American lives have been lost and more than 1.4 million service members wounded in battle.”
