Communication and Collaboration Strategy Paper
Most people today do not have an understanding of their learning styles or what personality spectrum they fall into. Some are not even aware that many individuals do not share the same learning styles and personality types as they do. Based on findings from the multiple pathways to learning assessment, I successfully have discovered what mine are. The three leaning styles identified were: musical, visual-spatial and bodily/kinesthetic.   For the personality spectrum, I find myself as a thinker.
The musical learning style score was my highest in the assessment and according to the Multiple Pathways to Learning worksheet, the musical learner, “creates rhythms out of words, beat out of rhythms with hand or stick, play instrumental music/write raps, put new material to songs you already know and take music breaks” (Carter, 2007 pg. 44). As most people listen to music, learners my find this technique useful in many different applications.
The second learning style discovered was the visual-spatial style. This is the learning style that illustrates how people can learn by looking at symbols or diagrams and following the directions that are given. They are learners who have a large grasp of one’s geometrical space. According to the Multiple Pathways to Learning worksheet, “Visual-Spatial Learners prefer a drawn map rather that written directions” (Carter, 2007 pg. 41). An effective strategy that I would implement for effective communication and collaboration would be to either figuratively or literally draw or present the...
