Addiction have affected us as a society in all areas of our lives, some forms of addiction may be more serious that others, but when all is said and done it is something that we have to take a serious look at, and do what is absolutely necessary to minimize or eliminate it. Some of these more serious addictions can destroy lives or even end up killing someone.
One of these serious addictions is relationship addiction, which can cause a number of emotionally based problems including but not limited to morality issues and destruction, plus it can tear apart the love of ones’ self, life, and can affect the relationship to everything in one’s world. Comparing two articles on addiction as a relationship one textual and the other visual, we will be looking at some of the things involved, and the approaches from both points of view. Some of us may not have realized that we have reached this stage, but I implore you all to do a self-assessment after looking at both articles for a self-evaluation.
The textual articles titled, “Addiction as a Relationship,” is written by Jean Kilbourne, who have been analyzing themes and sharing them with large audiences, and the visual titled, “Love Addiction: Is my relationship healthy? Can be found at (www.videosurf.com/love-addiction-is-my-relationship-healthy-340583) narrated by Jeff Gazley, M.S.
This textual article by Jean Kilbourne is looking at how advertisers spend millions of dollars on psychological research to get into peoples wallet, their minds, and their lives, thus keeping them in denial and getting them addicted. It shows us how were as consumers become addicted by the various ads and methods, as advertisers consistently uses a set of themes. The visual is showing us how one gets into a relationship with certain expectations, and ends up becoming addicted to the relationship mistaking it for love.
