Taxes-mexico adopted a number of new policies that transformed in northern provinces in the west and texas. the American became a source of discord. strongly committed to slavery and reluctant to adopt mexican ways, the american eventually fomented an uprising of settlers that resulted in the creation of the republic of taxes.
Stephen Austin- He was known as the Father of Texas, led the second, but first legal and ultimately successful colonization of the region by bringing 300 families from the United States. the capital of taxes was named after his name.
