Cool Hand Luke directed by Stuart Rosenberg and released in November of 1967, is about a guy named Luke who has the never give up personality. When ever presented with a challenge he never gives up. Luke is a Veteran who was awarded with several awards and metals and remained a Private throughout his whole time serving. Luke Jackson is sentenced to a serve two years in a southern after he's arrested for drunkenly decapitating parking meters. While serving time in prison he finds out that his mother has past away and is sent to the box so he won’t have a desire to escape, but once he is let out of the box there is no stopping Luke from escapes, but then is caught, then escapes, and is caught. Broken in spirit, Luke nonetheless takes one last stab at freedom when he gets the chance to steal the guards' truck. Dragline jumps in the truck with Luke and they drive off. The two travels together until at night near a church Luke tells Dragline that they should split up. Saddened and regretful, Dragline thanks Luke as the two parts, and Luke enters the church. Moments later, police cars arrive outside the church. Dragline suddenly enters and tells Luke it's over and he made a deal with the bosses that they won't hurt him if he surrenders peacefully. Luke, knowing better, appears in an open window and remarks, "What we've got here is a failure to communicate." Luke is immediately shot in the neck and later dies.
