Country Wife
Synopsis-
In this story, all of the characters use dishonesty to get what they think they want.   In reality, it seems that they choose the one that they know they cannot have.   It seems as though they all have a problem with commitment.   Therefore, these characters are disguising themselves to fool others.   Infidelity seems almost likely, however in the end they all reconcile and agree to stay with one another.
Theme-
The theme seems to be that men and women will do exactly what they are not supposed to do.   This play seems to claim that it contains the true animal instincts of men and women, when in reality it exposes the adulterer lifestyles of the non- believes.
Analysis-
I feel that this play is sending the wrong message to those seeking a monogamous relationship.   It gives the implication that one should live through there emotions and obey their flesh.   Today in society one of the number one causes of divorce is adultery.   I believe that these type of dramatic skit and plays, lead people to believe that this type of behavior is normal and accepted.   When in reality, we see the unfolding of relationships.   Had this taken place in real life there would have been no happy conclusion.   These couples would not be able to experience trust with one another.   Trust, next to a strong faith in God, is the second most important aspect in a relationship.   Couples without trust can never experience true love.
