Creation versus Evolution, Why not Both?

For thousands of years, there has been a lot of controversy over religion, and I believe this controversy can be divided into two main groups. The first group consists of people who fight each other because of conflicting religious beliefs. I don’t find this group as important as the second group because research has shown that many of those supposed religious fights are actually instigated for secular motives anyway. Motives like oil, land, or revenge(D’Souza, USA Today). The second group consists of those who fight over whether there is a God at all, or if evolution is really the answer to how man came to be. I’m talking about the controversial topic of Creationism verses Evolution as the reasons for how life was created. Creationism is the “...belief in the biblical account of the creation of the world as described in Genesis...” (Creationism, Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia). Evolution is the “...concept that embodies the belief that existing animals and plants developed by a process of gradual, continuous change from previously existing forms.” (Evolution, Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia). I believe in creationism and argue that there is a God who created everything. I would even argue that science, including some of the theory of evolution, can be used to back up the existence of a divine creator or intelligent design. Intelligent design is the theory that “...aspects of nature show evidence of having been designed by an intelligence.” (R. T. Pennock, Intelligent Design Creationism and Its Critics).
When Charles Darwin came up with the Theory of evolution he believed that it was the whole answer of how the world and life came to be. The law of conservation of energy says that matter or energy can not be created or destroyed (Conservation laws, Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia).
